Happy New Year!

What are your plans for New Years Eve? This year I am going to likely just stay home, grab some movies, snacks, and watch the festivities around the world from the comfort of my living room.  Some years I go to parties but other times I like to bring it down and its been a busy year!  But I think no matter what you're doing, as long as you're with the person you love come midnight then that's all that matters :)

For those of you who are going to celebrate whether just with your family or a group of friends, here are some printables to swank up your event!

I Heart Pinterest

As you have read in previous blogs, Pinterest is my new obsession.  I feel it keeps the mind going creatively, plus I find alot of great recipes on there, plus fashion inspiration and home decor ideas.  Being new to Pinterest I have had to learn the ins and outs....like if you see something you like Pin It right away or Like It.  Otherwise if you go back later it will take a long long time to find it again!  This cartoon was on Pinterest and it totally cracks me up!

Don't forget to follow me on Pinterest and Facebook too!  Links on the left hand side of this blog :)

To Be Elegant

Giorgio Armani once said....

"Being elegant is not a matter of age but of attitude."

I feel that society this day misses the mark in being elegant and why don't we want to feel that way everyday.  I should have been born in the 50s-60s when is just a part of life.  Pictures of the past inspire me to try to be more everyday.

The Final Touch

We often would like to update our look but cannot afford to go out and buy a new wardrobe.  I find the easiet way to brighten a wardrobe is with jewelry.  It's the final touch to an outfit that sometimes can make or break it.  The key is to find pieces that will be both dramatic and neutral.  On a recent browse through Target.com, I found these great pieces at steal prices:

Dana Kellin for Target - Champagne Teardrop Necklace, 13.99

Dana Kellin for Target - Multicolor Three Strand Necklace, 34.99

Shaky Ring - Gold, 13.98

Genuine Jade Beaded Bracelet & Earrings Set, 19.99

Open Work Cuff Bracelet - Gold, 14.99

The Iconic Chanel Bag

I can only wish that one day I will own a Chanel bag so until then I will just admire (and drool).  Here are some interesting things about the construction of these expensive but lovely bags:
  • During production, there are 180 essential operations performed on each bag.
  • More than 30 new styles are introduced each year.
  • It takes 6 60 15 craftspeople working up to 18 hours on each purse.
  • The garnet lining was inspired by the uniform Coco Chanel wore as alittle firl at an orphanage in Aubazine, France.
  • The final touches? The double-C logo clasp is fastened on, and the leather-and-chain shoulder strap is slipped through the golden eyelets.

Pepperoni Pizza Rolls

I found this recipe on Pinterest, where I find myself going for recipes lately when I don't know what to do for dinner.  I love Pinterest for everything it has!  Iff you aren't already following me on Pinterest, click the link ti the left of this blog :)  These Pepperoni Pizza Rolls are so yummy and looked kinda funny coming out of the oven prompting my boyfriend to get a good laugh but he enjoyed them too.  The original receip can be found here.  I changed just a couple things.

Pepperoni Pizza Rolls
  • Frozen Bread Dough (logs found in freezer section)
  • Pepperoni (I sliced my own but you can use any deli style too)
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Margarine, melted
Thaw out frozen log(s).  Roll out each log into a square or rectangle as best as possible.  Spread pizza sauce on dough.  Then layer pepperoni slices straight over entire surface.  Sprinkle on shredded mozzarella then parmesan.  Finally, sprinkle on italian herbs.  Start at one end and roll the the dough into a log.  Place on baking sheet, brush on melted margarine on outside. and throw in oven.  I set mine at 425F for 20 minutes as per the dough bag instructions, just make sure yours is golden brown to take out.  While mine didn't look as pretty as the original recipe, it tasted great and I had leftovers for lunch mmm :)

Voila!
